It's a furniture store that acts like an interior design center. Doma Home Furnishings, opened in October of last year, represents furniture manufacturers never before available in the bay area. Owner David King considers his store's style transitional to contemporary, with a flair for the eclectic, and places an emphasis on customization and special orders. In his full service shop, customers can hire a designer for a few hours, engage in a "remix" of their home's interior, purchase a couch, hire one of King's on-staff craftsman to build a table to complement it, and design a custom-made rug to complete the mini-redecorating spree. King has made a reputation by offering designers focused on small spaces, such as Calligaris of Italy. Other lines they carry include Carter Furniture, Lazar, Barcalounger, Four Hands, and Dinec.
